WD Sentinel DS6100 is an enterprise-level storage server, providing unified storage with NAS and iSCSI. It uses up to four 3.5-inch datacenter-class WD Se hard drives and integrated data protection with either RAID or Windows Storage Spaces to store data. Windows Server 2012R2 Essentials operating system is installed on another two internal 2.5-inch WD drives running in RAID 1 mode. This decouples the operating system from the storage pool drives. Powered by Intel XEON E3-1265LV2 Quad-Core Server CPU with 2.5 GHz and 16 GB ECC RAM, the WD Sentinel DS6100 is well equipped for smaller networks up to 50 computers and up to 25 users. The internal RAM can easily be upgraded to 32 GB ECC RAM max. WD engineered hardware offers redundancy for both, power and network. The chassis if WD Sentinel DS6100 is equipped with two DC-IN power inlets and two external power supplies are included in the box. Two Gigabit Ethernet cards are available, supporting teaming and jumbo frames up to 9K. WD Sentinel DS6100 is the choice if you are looking for your First Server. The operating system Windows Server 2012R2 Essentials is designed to be the major domain controller in the network. The four additional drives can be used as storage pool.
